Itinerary Overview

Day 01 – Arrival in Sri Lanka | Airport to Wilpattu

Ayubowan! Welcome to Sri Lanka. Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be warmly greeted by your representative and escorted to your private vehicle. Your journey begins with a scenic drive to Wilpattu, Sri Lanka’s largest and one of its oldest national parks. Upon arrival, settle into your wilderness lodge and take time to relax after your international flight. Surrounded by nature and the sounds of the wild, enjoy a peaceful evening before the adventures ahead. Overnight stay in Wilpattu.

Day 02 – Wilpattu

Today is dedicated to exploring the magnificent Wilpattu National Park. Renowned for its unique “villus” (natural lakes), dense forests, and thriving wildlife, Wilpattu offers some of the best opportunities in Sri Lanka to spot the elusive Sri Lankan leopard. Embark on a full-day jeep safari accompanied by an experienced tracker and naturalist. Keep an eye out for elephants, sloth bears, spotted deer, crocodiles, and a remarkable variety of birdlife. Enjoy a picnic lunch and refreshments amidst the wilderness before continuing your safari. Overnight stay in Wilpattu.

Day 03 – Wilpattu to Sigiriya

After breakfast, depart for Sigiriya, the heart of Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle. Upon arrival, prepare to discover the legendary Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site rising dramatically above the surrounding plains. As the evening light paints the landscape in golden hues, explore the ancient royal citadel, its water gardens, frescoes, and breathtaking summit views. Later, unwind with a soothing herbal foot massage before returning to your hotel. Overnight stay in Sigiriya.

Day 04 – Sigiriya

Begin the day with a visit to the magnificent Dambulla Cave Temple, Sri Lanka’s largest and best-preserved cave temple complex. Admire centuries-old murals, statues, and sacred shrines carved into the rock. In the afternoon, travel to Minneriya National Park for an exciting jeep safari. Depending on wildlife movements, this region is famous for the spectacular elephant gatherings and offers excellent opportunities to observe elephants, deer, monkeys, and numerous bird species in their natural habitat. Overnight stay in Sigiriya.

Day 05 – Sigiriya to Kandy

This morning, journey through Sri Lanka’s lush countryside towards Kandy, the island’s last royal kingdom and cultural capital. Arrive in time to experience the vibrant Kandyan Cultural Show, featuring traditional drumming, acrobatics, and fire performances. Afterwards, visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, one of Buddhism’s most important pilgrimage sites. Spend the evening exploring the charming city before retiring to your hotel. Overnight stay in Kandy.

Day 06 – Kandy to Nuwara Eliya

Start the day with a guided nature walk through the Udawattakele Forest Reserve, a sanctuary rich in birdlife, butterflies, and endemic flora. Continue to the Royal Botanical Gardens of Peradeniya, home to one of Asia’s finest collections of tropical plants, orchids, and giant trees. Later, travel into Sri Lanka’s scenic hill country, passing tea plantations and waterfalls before arriving in Nuwara Eliya, affectionately known as “Little England.” Overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 07 – Nuwara Eliya

Rise early for an unforgettable excursion to Horton Plains National Park. Trek across rolling grasslands and cloud forests on a scenic 9.5-kilometre trail. Highlights include the dramatic precipice known as World’s End, offering spectacular panoramic views, and the picturesque Baker’s Falls hidden within the forest. The park is also home to unique wildlife including sambar deer, endemic birds, and rare highland flora. Overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 08 – Nuwara Eliya to Udawalawe

After breakfast, visit the charming mountain village of Ella. Explore the famous Nine Arches Bridge and enjoy a walk to Little Adam’s Peak, offering magnificent views over tea plantations and valleys. Later, continue to Udawalawe and check into your safari camp, where the wilderness experience continues. Overnight stay in Udawalawe.

Day 09 – Udawalawe

Spend the day exploring Udawalawe National Park, one of the best places in Asia to observe wild elephants at close range. Accompanied by an expert guide, venture deep into the park’s grasslands, reservoirs, and forests while searching for elephants, crocodiles, water buffalo, jackals, and a wide variety of bird species. Overnight stay in Udawalawe.

Day 10 – Udawalawe to Yala

Following breakfast, proceed to the legendary Yala National Park. In the afternoon, embark on a thrilling safari through Sri Lanka’s most famous wildlife reserve. Yala boasts one of the highest leopard densities in the world and is also home to elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles, and hundreds of bird species. Overnight stay at a luxury safari camp in Yala.

Day 11 – Yala & Bundala

Enjoy an early morning safari in Yala when wildlife activity is at its peak. Return to camp for relaxation before setting out in the afternoon for Bundala National Park, Sri Lanka’s premier bird sanctuary. The wetlands, lagoons, and sand dunes of Bundala attract thousands of migratory birds and provide excellent opportunities for wildlife photography. Overnight stay in Yala.

Day 12 – Yala to Sinharaja

After a final wildlife experience in the region, begin your journey towards the UNESCO-listed Sinharaja Rainforest, Sri Lanka’s last viable tropical rainforest. Upon arrival, settle into your eco-lodge surrounded by pristine wilderness and the sounds of nature. Overnight stay in Sinharaja.

Day 13 – Sinharaja

Today is dedicated to exploring the extraordinary biodiversity of Sinharaja Rainforest. Accompanied by an experienced naturalist, trek through dense jungle trails in search of endemic birds, colourful butterflies, rare reptiles, amphibians, and unique plant species found nowhere else on Earth. This rainforest is a paradise for nature enthusiasts and wildlife photographers alike. Overnight stay in Sinharaja.

Day 14 – Departure

After breakfast, bid farewell to Sri Lanka’s wild landscapes and begin your journey to Bandaranaike International Airport. As your adventure comes to an end, take with you unforgettable memories of ancient forests, remarkable wildlife encounters, scenic highlands, and the untamed beauty of Sri Lanka.
