Itinerary Overview

Day 01 – Arrival in Sri Lanka | Airport to Negombo

Ayubowan! Welcome to Sri Lanka. Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be warmly greeted and transferred to the charming coastal town of Negombo. Located just a short drive from the airport, Negombo offers the perfect introduction to island life and an ideal place to unwind after your journey.

Spend the day at leisure exploring the lively fishing town, known for its colonial heritage, bustling fish markets, and scenic lagoon. If time permits, enjoy a relaxing boat ride through the mangrove-lined waterways or take a leisurely stroll along the golden sands of Negombo Beach as the sun sets over the Indian Ocean. Overnight stay in Negombo.

Day 02 & 03 – Kalpitiya

After breakfast, journey north to the untouched coastal paradise of Kalpitiya. Situated on Sri Lanka’s northwestern peninsula, this hidden gem is famous for its pristine beaches, turquoise lagoons, and rich marine biodiversity.

Spend the next two days enjoying the natural beauty and relaxed atmosphere of the region. Kalpitiya is internationally recognized as one of Sri Lanka’s premier kitesurfing destinations, attracting enthusiasts from around the world thanks to its consistent winds and ideal conditions.

The surrounding waters are home to large pods of spinner dolphins, bottlenose dolphins, and occasionally even whales. Dolphin-watching excursions provide unforgettable opportunities to observe these magnificent creatures in their natural environment. Between adventures, relax on quiet beaches, enjoy fresh seafood, or simply soak up the peaceful coastal surroundings.

Day 04 & 05 – Jaffna

Continue your coastal adventure to Jaffna, the cultural capital of Sri Lanka’s Northern Province. Distinct in character, language, cuisine, and traditions, Jaffna offers a fascinating glimpse into the island’s rich Tamil heritage.

Visit the beautiful Kankesanthurai Beach and Casuarina Beach, where shallow turquoise waters and peaceful surroundings create the perfect setting for relaxation. Explore the famous Keerimalai Springs, a unique freshwater spring steeped in legend and history.

Take time to discover Jaffna’s vibrant culture, colorful temples, local markets, and delicious cuisine while learning about the remarkable resilience and revival of this historic region. Overnight stays in Jaffna.

Day 06 & 07 – Trincomalee

Leave the northern coast behind and travel towards the spectacular eastern shores of Trincomalee. Blessed with one of the world’s finest natural harbors, Trincomalee combines stunning beaches, rich marine life, and centuries of history.

Spend your days exploring the crystal-clear waters and soft sandy beaches that make this destination one of Sri Lanka’s coastal treasures. Snorkel among vibrant coral reefs at Pigeon Island National Park, home to tropical fish, sea turtles, and reef sharks.

Visit the sacred Koneswaram Temple perched dramatically atop Swami Rock, offering breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean. Whether relaxing by the beach or discovering the region’s fascinating history, Trincomalee promises an unforgettable coastal experience.

Day 08 & 09 – Arugam Bay

Today, continue south along the east coast to Arugam Bay, one of Asia’s most celebrated surfing destinations. Famous for its laid-back atmosphere, golden beaches, and world-class surf breaks, Arugam Bay attracts travelers seeking both adventure and relaxation.

Spend the next two days enjoying the tropical surroundings and vibrant beach culture. During the surf season from May to September, surfers from around the globe flock here to ride the legendary waves. Even for non-surfers, the destination offers beautiful beaches, stunning sunrises, charming cafés, and a relaxed coastal lifestyle that is impossible not to enjoy.

Day 10 – Yala

Leaving the coast briefly behind, travel towards the wilderness of Yala National Park. This afternoon, embark on an exciting safari adventure through Sri Lanka’s most famous wildlife reserve.

Yala is renowned for having one of the highest leopard densities in the world and offers excellent opportunities to encounter these magnificent predators in their natural habitat. Alongside leopards, keep watch for elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles, deer, wild boar, and a remarkable variety of birdlife. As the sun sets over the park, enjoy the magical atmosphere of Sri Lanka’s untamed wilderness. Overnight stay near Yala.

Day 11 & 12 – Mirissa

Return to the coast and journey to the idyllic beach town of Mirissa on Sri Lanka’s southern shoreline. Along the way, visit Dondra Head, the southernmost point of the island, and the famous Coconut Tree Hill, one of Sri Lanka’s most photographed coastal viewpoints.

One of the highlights of your stay will be an early morning whale and dolphin watching excursion. Depending on weather conditions and the season, you may encounter blue whales, sperm whales, dolphins, and other marine life in the deep waters off the southern coast.

Spend the remainder of your time relaxing on Mirissa’s palm-fringed beaches, enjoying fresh seafood, swimming in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, or even trying your hand at surfing.

Day 13 – Galle

Today, make your way to the historic city of Galle. En route, visit the secluded Jungle Beach in Unawatuna, a hidden coastal paradise surrounded by lush greenery.

Later, explore the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Galle Dutch Fort, one of Asia’s best-preserved colonial fortresses. Wander through charming cobblestone streets lined with boutique shops, cafés, art galleries, and beautifully preserved colonial architecture. As the sun sets over the ramparts overlooking the ocean, enjoy your final evening in Sri Lanka’s enchanting south coast. Overnight stay in Galle.

Day 14 – Departure

After an unforgettable journey around Sri Lanka’s magnificent coastline, it is time to bid farewell to paradise. Depending on your flight schedule, you will be transferred to Bandaranaike International Airport for your onward journey.

As you depart, take with you cherished memories of golden beaches, turquoise waters, vibrant cultures, marine adventures, wildlife encounters, and the timeless beauty of Sri Lanka’s shores.
