Itinerary Overview

Day 01 – Arrival in Sri Lanka | Airport to Sigiriya

Ayubowan! Welcome to Sri Lanka, a land deeply connected to the ancient epic of the Ramayana. Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your representative and begin your sacred journey towards the Cultural Triangle.

En route, visit the revered Munneswaram Temple in Chilaw, one of the most significant Hindu temples in Sri Lanka. According to legend, Lord Rama visited this sacred site after defeating King Ravana, seeking divine blessings and absolution. Continue your journey towards Sigiriya via Dambulla, enjoying the changing landscapes of the island along the way.

Upon arrival, check into your hotel and spend the evening at leisure, preparing for the spiritual experiences that lie ahead. Dinner and overnight stay in Sigiriya.

Day 02 – Sigiriya to Trincomalee

After breakfast, visit the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that rises dramatically above the surrounding plains. While primarily known for its historical significance, the spectacular views from the summit offer a fascinating introduction to Sri Lanka’s rich cultural heritage.

Following your visit, continue towards the beautiful coastal city of Trincomalee on the island’s eastern shores. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and relax amidst the tranquil seaside atmosphere. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay in Trincomalee.

Day 03 – Trincomalee

This morning, visit the sacred Koneswaram Temple, one of the Pancha Ishwarams dedicated to Lord Shiva and among the most important Hindu pilgrimage sites in Sri Lanka. Perched dramatically atop Swami Rock overlooking the Indian Ocean, the temple offers breathtaking views and profound spiritual significance.

Later, visit the famous Kanniya Hot Water Springs, believed to have been created by King Ravana. According to local legend, these springs were formed when Ravana struck the earth with his sword to perform last rites for his mother. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure, enjoying the serene surroundings of Trincomalee. Overnight stay in Trincomalee.

Day 04 – Trincomalee to Kandy

After breakfast, depart for Kandy, the cultural and spiritual heart of Sri Lanka. En route, visit the magnificent Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its exquisite Buddhist murals and centuries-old statues housed within five sacred caves.

Continue your journey with a visit to a traditional spice and herbal garden in Matale, where you will discover Sri Lanka’s famous spices and Ayurvedic healing traditions. Upon arrival in Kandy, enjoy a guided city tour including views of the picturesque Kandy Lake and bustling local markets. Overnight stay in Kandy.

Day 05 – Kandy to Nuwara Eliya

Begin the day with a visit to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, one of Buddhism’s most sacred pilgrimage sites and an important cultural landmark of Sri Lanka.

Thereafter, journey into the cool highlands of Nuwara Eliya, travelling through scenic tea plantations, waterfalls, and mist-covered mountains. Along the way, visit the revered Sri Bhaktha Hanuman Temple in Ramboda, believed to be one of the locations where Lord Hanuman searched for Princess Sita during his mission to Lanka.

Enjoy stunning views of Sri Lanka’s tea country before arriving in Nuwara Eliya, often referred to as “Little England.” Check into your hotel and relax amidst the peaceful mountain surroundings. Overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 06 – Sacred Ramayana Sites of Nuwara Eliya

Today is dedicated to exploring some of the most important Ramayana sites in Sri Lanka.

Begin with a visit to Divurumpola Temple, believed to be the sacred location where Princess Sita underwent the Agni Pariksha (Trial by Fire) to prove her purity following her rescue by Lord Rama.

Continue to the famous Seetha Amman Temple, situated beside a flowing stream amidst lush greenery. According to legend, this is the location where Princess Sita was held captive by King Ravana. The temple remains one of the most visited Ramayana sites in Sri Lanka.

Nearby lies the legendary Ashoka Vatika, believed to be the beautiful garden where Sita spent her days during captivity and where Lord Hanuman first met her. Guests may also choose to visit the beautiful Hakgala Botanical Gardens, which are traditionally associated with the Ashoka Vatika mentioned in the Ramayana.

Later, visit the sacred Gayathri Peedam, an important spiritual centre dedicated to Goddess Gayathri and closely connected to the Ramayana Trail. Conclude the day with a brief tour of Nuwara Eliya before returning to your hotel. Overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 07 – Nuwara Eliya to Bentota

After breakfast, depart from the central highlands and journey towards the golden beaches of Sri Lanka’s southwest coast. Enjoy the changing scenery as tea-covered mountains give way to tropical forests, rivers, and coastal landscapes.

Arrive in Bentota, one of Sri Lanka’s most popular beach destinations, where you can relax and reflect upon the spiritual experiences of the past week. Spend the remainder of the day enjoying the tranquil surroundings of the Indian Ocean. Dinner and overnight stay in Bentota.

Day 08 – Departure

After breakfast, enjoy your final moments in paradise before transferring to Bandaranaike International Airport for your departure flight.
